Yaesu F-710: What is and why use AESS sound

Most people don't really understand the purpose of the AESS and why this sound system exists. Many discount it as non functional or no real functional effect. That is because most don't read the manual and most don't experiment with the sound settings.  None the less ...

Ovidiu Băluță in a Facebook post states this   "If you need a full sound set the level to 100 and you will have signal in both speakers with the differentiation of 700 or 1000Hz established by the internal crossover. If you dig a dx and need a very articulate sharp sound set to 0 and the signal will only be applied to the external speaker, cutting everything below 700 or 1000Hz. At intermediate levels the adjustment acts as what is known in the audiophile field as the BBC dip. By phasing the signals an audio notch is created for the set frequency 700 or 1000Hz. The principle was developed by BBC engineers at studio monitors for a sound that does not create fatigue."
